House Bill 3125, 76th Legislature, directed the Office of Vehicle Fleet Management (OVFM) to adopt a statewide fleet management plan to improve the administration and operation of the state’s vehicle fleet. The main statutory components of the Plan address the size and use of the state’s fleet. The Plan attempts to identify the number and type of vehicles operated and maintained by the state and to set guidelines to maximize their use.

The Texas Forest Service cooperates with OVFM by providing detailed information about our fleet, its use, its maintenance, and its fuel consumption on a regular basis. Our purpose in supporting this activity is to maximize our fleet in terms of utilization and size.
